Take the next step in your diving education and extend your range. Many dive operations require this certification for more advanced dives, and it is also a prerequisite for some specialty courses. You can start your Advanced Open Water training immediately after becoming certified as an Open Water Diver.
We complete five dives over two days, typically focused on buoyancy, underwater navigation, wreck diving, deep diving, and DSMB. As you plan your continuing education, you can apply each of your AOW dives as Dive 1 of a corresponding specialty course.
The Advanced Open Water certification has two required dives, Deep dive and Navigation dive. The other three dives are left to the discretion of the student and/or instructor. We typically do a Peak Performance Buoyancy dive, Wreck dive, and DSMB to complete the five dives. We typically add an optional DSMB dive to obtain that specialty for an additional $50. Students will need to study the appropriate chapters in the Advanced Open Water manual or eLearning to complete the knowledge development of the course.
