We meet Saturday and Sunday evening in the classroom and pool. Your instructor will help you master the skills and knowledge to receive your PADI referral, the first step in getting certified. You must do four open water dives to complete your PADI Open Water Certification.
Course fee covers all equipment and instruction. You must purchase and complete the eLearning before the first class.
Any person 10 years or older may take the Open Water Diver course. There is also a requirement to float or tread water for 10 minutes and complete a 300 yard snorkel swim. We will complete this during the pool sessions. A medical form must also be filled out and reviewed before one may participate in the course.
Your course fee includes all the equipment needed. We will also provide your eLearning Crew-Pak, Logbook/Referral, student planning slate, and eRDPML ($70 value). We ask that you arrive about 30 minutes before the start of class to be fitted for mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuit. We offer a student discount on this personal equipment and suggest that you take advantage of this offer as this is the equipment that will make your diving experience most enjoyable.
You need only bring a bathing suit and towel to participate in the class. You will also need to sign up for eLearning to complete the knowledge development part of the course. The cost of this is $195 and takes about 8 hours to complete. You should try to complete this before the start of the course. We also recommend that you eat before the class as it is a long evening.
